Travel Logistics

Reconstructing Practice will take place at ArtCenter College of Design’s South Campus in the Windtunnel, a renovated supersonic wind tunnel located at 950 South Raymond Ave. in Pasadena.

The Windtunnel
Please enter the Windtunnel through the Hixon Courtyard entrance: you’ll see two large glass doors labeled “Media Design Practices” that lead into the Gallery space. We’ll have sandwich board signs out on the sidewalk to guide you in. Please don’t enter via the main 950 Building doorway where the security desk is located; if you try to enter this way, security will just re-route you to the Hixon Courtyard entrance.

Parking
Free parking is available in the lot just past the Hixon Courtyard entrance of the Windtunnel on the right side; street parking is also available along Raymond Ave.

Public Transit
The Windtunnel is located about a 7 minute walk from the Fillmore station on the Metro’s Gold Line.

Pasadena Transit bus lines also stop on the corner of Raymond and Glenarm, where the 950 building is located: click here for more information about those routes.

Air Travel

Local airports include LAX and Burbank.

Lodging
We would recommend staying in or near Pasadena for easy access to the ArtCenter South Campus (950 South Raymond Ave), especially if you’ll be without a car. Alternatively, staying anywhere along the metro’s Gold Line into LA would also be relatively convenient to the event: this includes parts of neighborhoods like Highland Park, Lincoln Heights, Chinatown, and DTLA/Arts District. Airbnb’s are plentiful and could be a more affordable option than a hotel, in many cases.
